Event Details

The Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology, in partnership with the Center for Experiential Learning and Assessment (CELA) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, offers realistic, immersive patient simulation education for ABA Diplomates seeking to fulfill their Practice Performance Assessment and Improvement (PPAI) requirement for the American Board of Anesthesiologists® (ABA) Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology (MOCA®) Program. This course fulfills the simulation education requirement of Part 4 of MOCA®.

After participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to:

  • Manage a patient undergoing anesthesia who experiences a hemodynamic critical event.
  • Manage a patient undergoing anesthesia who experiences a respiratory critical event.
  • Describe and discuss optimal teamwork, leadership and communicatin skills required during crisis management.
  • Perform an effective handover.
